A busy Tuesday at Forrester High School (joined to St. Augustine’s) saw Aileen coaching 18 secondary school children. I went along to help out and it was great to see so many pupils interested and showing some skills.
Halloween parties meant our primary school session was smaller than usual but those that attended were truly lucky as Lynne Beattie (GB Olympic Captain 2012) joined us. The girls were great in both listening and implementing instructions from Aileen, showing good teamwork and willingness to try different approaches. Clearly Lynne didn’t get to her level without enjoying competition and this was noted as she couldn’t help but score the winning point for her team in the deciding mini game. If only Aileen could had shown the speed, clearly evident in the photo, during the game…
Thanks to Aileen we are fortunate to be able to offer these junior sessions for free. If you would like more information on Jets Juniors please email firstname.lastname@example.org
W1 had a great win away at Aberdonia on Saturday. It was a tough win as an injury to Julia during the 3rd set meant continuing the match with effectively only 5 fit players on court. These are the days that really show the value in great team spirit.
M1 faced a difficult away tie with Glasgow Mets and did well to win a set against an experienced team.
This coming Saturday (7th November) both W2 and M2 are at St. Augustine’s in the Cup. Get down from 1030 to support the teams.
See you all at the sessions this week.
